First step: research and analysis
It all starts with research. The work begins with in-depth historical research, combined with careful and accurate analysis of the preserved elements (images, texts, audio, objects). Then, the different types of documents are identified, so that the collection can be divided into clear and targeted categories.
Second step: reorganisation and selection
An ordered archive is a more useful database. This second phase starts with the initial cleaning and physical reorganisation of the stored items, and then proceeds to their cataloguing and subsequent classification.
Third step: classification
Next, a selection is made, with subsequent cataloguing by type of document, in collaboration with the client, of those elements of greatest relevance and importance in outlining the history of the company. This is a nodal phase of Heritage's work: here the narrative structure of the story we are going to tell is outlined.
Fourth step: digitisation and database
The digitisation phase begins with the construction of a tree diagram to define the research fields, a scheme to which the digital versions of the documentary elements will then relate. The acquisition of text and images is performed in high definition and high resolution, with a flatbed scanner or planetary system; it is supported by the conversion of film, video and sound recordings, and photographs of the objects. Where necessary, accurate and precise digital restoration of damaged documents is performed. Finally, the adaptation of the information and tonal and chromatic values of the images is carried out for the various communication purposes (print, web, etc.). Next comes the construction of a customised Database, into which the data is stored. This is developed in php by the open source programme MySql (not subject to licence), which can be used via any browser on any platform.
Fifth step: visual communication
Once the story has been written, it has to be communicated. We offer you different possibilities: from the video spot to the short film, the documentary, the printed business monograph to the digital one. Different products with a single goal: to effectively tell your story. And the story of each company is a gem added to the Made in Italy scenario.
